How do you manage changing clothing sizes?

Outside... I guess I'm confused. Leggings are the devil, but you would only have bought workout leggings. Are there different types of leggings?

Because I wear them to workout/walk and I take them off, I don't wear them all day. I can't workout in a skirt, I'm not Amish (not that there is anything wrong with being Amish). Once I lost so much weight, I have to wear high compression leggings to hold my loose skin when I'm active.

So like I said, the only pants I would have bought the whole time were compression leggings for working out. Buying jeans when you are losing weight rapidly is like setting money on fire.

I've got a few pairs of jeans and a couple good bras that are too small in the closet that I will wear once they fit. I plan on buying new (cheap) tops as needed.

I've had to replace my clothing for work but I just by a couple staple pieces at a time and rotate them. I've lost 4 sizes total, 3 since my surgery in December so I try and wear my clothing until it no longer fits and then I will get rid of the largest size and replace it with a few items in the newest size. For example: I'm now in a 16, I just got rid of my 22s as I cannot wear them any longer, bought a couple new pairs of pants in a 16 but am also still wearing my 20s and 18s as well. Shirts I haven't been worried about yet, its winter and frigid and nobody cares if my sweaters are 2 sizes to big.

I stick with thrift store for jeans and most tops. I did buy one pair of Denizen jeans at Target on sale because I could not find my size at the thrift store, and really needed a new pair badly. I limit buying to 3 pairs of a size.

Bras are another story. I was a 38 DDD/E. I thought they weren't going anywhere until one day around the 3.5 month mark, they were just gone. I am now down to a D but have held up well because I have dense tissue.

My advice on bras is go get fitted. Then go somewhere like TJ Maxx or Ross and find a nice bra. It's not worth it for me to wear cheap bras. I will go to almost no end for a good sports bra. I have a reconstructed shoulder with muscle that is pleated at my sternum, so I absolutely have to have good support regardless of size.

Thrift stores are great. Not only can you find some clothes really cheap but think of all the steps walking around while shopping!

I was able to get 2 jackets, three pants and a few polo shirts for about $20! After dry cleaning I'm still under $50 for everything!

Unfortunately even though the scale changed , my clothing size didn't move very fast. it didn't change not once until i dropped about 60 lbs lost.Starting size 15/16 ish currently 10/11 have not spent a dollar on clothes. Church give away, and donations. I usually drop off a trash bag or 2 monthly and acquire the same amount if not more in return. The only thing i had to spend money on is undergarments. Reach out to local churches or food banks they will know where to go.

I hit up thrift stores and keep an eye on Facebook marketplace posts. I bought 4 garbage bags of 18-20 clothes (primarily Lane Bryant) for $65 from a woman on Facebook and sold several pieces of my too big pieces.

I didn't read all the comments so I might be repeating. Thrift shops, consignments, Salvation Army are great options. I went from a very tight 16 and am currently a 12 so I really didn't need to buy a lot of new clothes and my weight loss wasn't super rapid but I have friends who have been through it. If you have a support group at your surgery center, try to get a swap going. I've also gotten clothes on eBay. I stretched out my 38DD bras so I was able to keep wearing those for a while, until I got down to a 36D. I bought a lot (too many) new bras and because I'm a lot saggier, the plunging ones aren't working too well.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
