sleevingbeauty321 7 Posted February 23, 2017 I was sleeved on Jan 30th and I am considering going back on birth control pills. Does anyone know how soon it would be safe to do so?
up4challenge 54 Posted February 23, 2017 I was sleeved on 17th December and my doctor still wants me to wait. I am a little past 8 weeks and during my last week's appointment when I asked him twice, he told me 'NO'. 1 sleevingbeauty321 reacted to this
kayshabear 44 Posted February 23, 2017 I didn't even think about asking my surgeon when I could get on birth control pot-op... ooops! He is SUPER hardcore about the whole, "No getting pregnant within 2 years of surgery" that it scared me and after about 6 weeks of healing post-op I went and got the Nexplanon arm implant so I wouldn't have to worry about remembering to take any pills or anything. I guess it is different though with the birth control pills, you want to make sure your stomach is healed enough and can properly break it down to be effective! But if you have ever considered the arm implant BC, I recommend it only because it lasts up to 3 years, and it really wasn't bad getting it put in! I bruised a bit afterwards, but that is normal for me! I am liking it so far. 2 sleevingbeauty321 and dvmp61 reacted to this

shawnak911 60 Posted February 25, 2017 I had to stop my pills before surgery and go with another plan. I got the DEPO shot about three weeks prior to surgery and couldn't be happier. It's already stopped my period which has been great. I was told the pill was a thing of my past. 1 sleevingbeauty321 reacted to this
sleevingbeauty321 7 Posted February 25, 2017 Honestly one of the main reasons that I want to go back on the pill is because it helped with my breakouts. I'm not sure how the other birth control methods work and if they also help with breakouts

shawnak911 60 Posted February 26, 2017 I had the bypass and was told the pill increased chances of blood clots and therefore had to go off it. Make sure to discuss it with your surgeon as well as your obgyn. 1 sleevingbeauty321 reacted to this
