mollymckim 27 Posted February 22, 2017 I need some advice guys. I am 4 weeks post-op tomorrow. I had surgery done in Tijuana so I have very little guidance post-op. I should be in pureed/mushy food stage but the thing is, I HATE the way it feels to eat. I do get some hunger, it's just the way the food feel as it goes down it feels uncomfortable, gurgley, gassy . I have tried eggs, refried Beans, tilapia, cream Soups, and yogurt. Most days I only eat for one meal and so I'm still depending on Protein Shakes for most of my meals. My question is, Is this ok? should I try to eat more often?
crivera 13 Posted February 22, 2017 Totally experiencing the same thing. Like massive heartburn reflux pain!!!!! Wheneverrrr I eat any sort of solid. It's horrible ! Calling my MD. I was informed to make sure I'm taking my reflux med that was prescribed. Good luck !
bossportsgal 136 Posted February 22, 2017 I'm six weeks post surgery today. I heard that that feeling will go away?
HeidiSue2009 48 Posted February 23, 2017 Yes! It went away for me. It seemed to happen overnight. I am 9 weeks post op GB. I am officially in the regular diet stage. Salmon is the only thing that i have tried so far that still gives me a problem. I will try again in a few weeks. Hang in there! It gets better and when it does, its amazing! happyaslari 15 Posted February 26, 2017 I'm 3 weeks out and also had surgery in Tijuana. Eating is hard. I don't feel great and it can cause pains in my chest. Eat as slowly as possible! I only get in 1/4 cup maybe. Probably more like 1/8. I'm still relying on shakes and broth. I think it's okay short term. Takes time to heal and you don't want to force anything. Make sure you are getting some Vitamins in the meantime. I was taking some greens (gross green powder mixed with juice or Water for added vitamins, but I'm nauseated at the moment so can't stomach it). I tried eggs too. Epic fail. Soups are ok. I had tuna and miracle whip too which went down ok but I didn't feel great after but I'm not sure the two are related though.
