Cold stuff i cant take well, but i can kill a popsicle. All my liquids are either hot or room temp. For some reasons i feel cold and then get hot not sure what that is all about. Im gone try that apple juice this weekend. Apple juice should make you poop.

It probably will but this soon I have to diluted it 50/50 with Water. I could not stop trembling for the first couple of days seem like I was cold. Seem like once my blood started to flow right I started to warm up some. I've been hot natured my WHOLE LIFE, so I really wouldn't mind be normal . Are you on all liquids? So many different Dr's and so many different progressions, I can see how some people have issues because It's some lying going on somewhere!!!!

Yes, i am on all liquids for at least two weeks. My surgeon believes that your stomach is healing and you need to be on liquids. The next stage is mushy foods and then puree. Im gone lose all my weight on my post op diet it seems.

My surgery was yesterday, 2/23/17. All last night I didn't see how I would feel well enough to go home today and boy! was I wrong. What a difference. Am feeling pretty good except for the gas pains and trying to get in all the liquids! Also hate taking my crushed pills but I'm so glad to have the surgery behind me and starting this journey!

I'm on full liquids. So I can have cream Soups along with my liquids I add a lol Protein Powder in them to get the Protein in. It's okay. Getting liquids in has been difficult. I am getting my gases out and I pooped today!!! So happy about that. Overall I feel well. The gas x strips help some. I take two at a time. *hugs*

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
