Severe abdominal pain/no weight loss in weeks

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone , I got sleeved on December 22nd, and I am very happy I am 24 pounds down but in a 3 week time I only lost 2 pounds which is so disappointing and doesn't give me much motivation. I'm scared I am back to where I was prior to surgery( working out dieting and not losing). Also for the past month I have been having severe abdominal pain( to the point where I am crying ) and this happens every couple of days. I have attempted laxatives, suppositories, and enemas, thinking it's just Constipation but I feel like it's more than that. I don't know what though. Help so sad , and tired of being in pain and stopping from having a life due to this.

If you've still got your gallbladder you may want to get that looked at, it sounds similar to the pain I had when I needed mine out.

Did you have upper and lower abdominal pain? My surgeon last time I spoke to him said it cannot be because the pain wasn't on that side, but then why the pain:/

Definitely get it looked at! Even if it is Constipation, they may be able to give you something for it.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
