misschrissylynn 36 Posted February 20, 2017 I'm five days post op, when I wake up from sleeping I feel instantly dizzy and week. What can I do to help this? Has anyone else felt this way?
gg2016 46 Posted February 20, 2017 sounds like you're dehydrated. That happened to me for a couple weeks. Take a glass of Water to bed so you can sip it throughout the night and give yourself some time to get up and around, don't rush. it will eventually go away. 2 RockDaisy and Flora Anderson reacted to this
mylighthouse 782 Posted February 20, 2017 Really watch this closely... if you are dehydrated, it will be hard to catch up on your Water and get rehydrated on your own. You might need to go to urgent care or the ER, or at the least, call your doctor's office and please let them know how you are feeling. A couple of weeks ago, I was having dizzy spells and lightheadedness and I went to urgent care. They sent me on to the ER. They ran tests and found that I was dehydrated and also had a urinary tract infection (most likely brought on because I was not getting enough liquids, even though I thought I was). Stayed all day at the ER and they did IV fluids to help me out. Drink, drink, drink. Please make sure you get enough. It is so important. And please don't hesitate to call your doctor or go get treatment today.

RockDaisy 52 Posted February 28, 2017 Dehydration...no more sleeping in on Saturday mornings....now I have to set alarms and make sure I wake up to keep hydrated...Water with lemon and G2 gatorades helped a lot...
SeaShells82 96 Posted February 28, 2017 Have you checked your sugar levels in the morning when you're having these symptoms? Even if you weren't diabetic before surgery, the drastic reduction in calories, coupled with possible dehydration can throw your body off while it adjusts.
