mouse0707 18 Posted February 19, 2017 Does anyone know how long we will only be able to sip a little every 10 minutes? Will this be something we have to do from now on or is this just temporary?
Kaylamh 144 Posted February 19, 2017 Honestly, I still have a hard time with drinking Water. It's easier for me to drink full liquids or flavored water, but chugging still makes me gassy and sloshy. I don't have to time my sips any more but I still take it slow
kar12345 74 Posted February 20, 2017 I'm over 5 weeks and drinking is fine. Each day drinking got better after surgery - I saw a big improvement around 2 1/2 weeks. Keep sipping - every sip counts!
orionburn 1,024 Posted February 20, 2017 For most it's just temporary, but for some it takes weeks to get fluids down without much fuss. I'm 3 1/2 weeks post-op and although I can't take a big gulp I can take larger sips on a consistent basis. Anymore I can get 32 oz of Water down within a few hours of waking up. Water moves through an empty stomach quickly, but the early days were rough when things were still swollen.
TexasguyEP 56 Posted February 20, 2017 I'm 6 days out and I'm able to hit my 64 Oz target now. A day or two ago, not even. It takes time and we are different.
asantiago 89 Posted February 20, 2017 Hello. I am a year post op and it will get better. I am able to drink more Water than sips. What I do find easier is to drink from a Poland spring sip bottle but never use a straw. Don't worry it will get easier.
Airstream88 361 Posted February 20, 2017 After 4 months I am able to drink normally though I still find warm drinks go down easier than cold ones. I drink mostly Decaf hot tea and Water.
