Which Weight Loss Surgery Foods and Products Would You Like to See?

Recommended Posts

The weight loss surgery diet is strict, but there is an entire industry of weight loss surgery products to help make your journey easier. There are reduced-calorie, low-carb, high-Protein versions of foods from Cereal and pancakes to Pasta and wraps. Also, of course, there are tons of convenient Meal Replacements and Protein shakes and bars to fight hunger at a moment’s notice, no matter where you are.

Even though there a lot of weight loss and weight loss surgery foods, there may be some others that you would like to see. Is there a certain flavor of Protein Bar or Protein shake that you would love to try, or are there any high-carb, high-calorie off-limits foods that you wish you could find in a low-carb, but still tasty, version? Or maybe you can think of something that would make a pre-op or post-op liquid diet easier that you haven’t been able to find in stores?

Share what you would like to see on shelves as you lose weight! If you are lucky, you might discover that another BariatricPal member knows where you can find that dream food!

We sell almost every item sold on Bariatric Choice. They don't sell Vitamin Patches, we do :)

I would just love to have access to all of the products that are already out there. It's hard to find a lot of products in Canada, and when you can find a company that will ship here, the shipping fees and duty fees are often prohibitive.

It would be nice to have vendors in Canada that sold these things - either in store or online!

We have many BariatricPal Store customers in Canada and ship there daily. Shipping is really expensive. We looked at opening a store in Canada but importing all of our products is too costly and timely. We are working on a shipping option which will allow us to offer to offer free or inexpensive shipping options. We are opening a new warehouse in a few months and once that's open, you'll see shipping fees to Canada slashed dramatically.

I want frozen meals for the different stages. Yes, yes, yes, eating fresh food is ideal. Cooking yourself is ideal. But the best diet is one you can stick to. Send me a subscription once a week of prepared lunches, say 250 calories, high in Protein, flavorful, low carb. And don't write the word "bariatric" on the box so I can take them to work. That's a service I'd subscribe to.

I wish you had a section in your store for vegan Protein. I am highly allergic to why and I literally have spent hours reading every one of your labels and so far I haven't found any Protein product I can use/eat/ingest. I asked the live chat gal, Monica, for links to products without whey and she couldn't help me.

We've been lagging behind in the Vegan department. We really don't have much yet. We will be adding more Vegan-friendly products later this summer.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
