Montana Girl 7 Posted February 19, 2017 I am ten days post-op and sooooo tired of sweet tasting things. Any ideas for savory things that will work well at this stage? What were your favorites? thanks. 1 dvmp61 reacted to this
snapy17 39 Posted February 19, 2017 Oh me too. It was brutal..so I made cream of wheat with a tad of butter & salt & added flavorless Protein Powder to it !! It was sooooooo satisfying. 2 dvmp61 and jenifreckles47 reacted to this
Hellya 144 Posted February 19, 2017 I made myself a veggie Soup with beef broth and blended then strained it. OMG. It was so good. I don't think I would have made it without it. LOL. 2 Aquarius Love and dvmp61 reacted to this
Martha Parker-mcneal 166 Posted February 20, 2017 I so agree. all the shakes and bars are sweet and way too sweet for me. I enjoyed the ricotta bake as well as refried Beans ( fat free) with cheese. got unflavoured Protein powder and added it to soups=scrambled eggs and mashed potatoes. there are several sites where you can get recipe ideas on the internet for every stage of eating just google/ best of luck to you 1 dvmp61 reacted to this

MaHaBone 18 Posted February 21, 2017 Ugh I got so sick of the sweet too! That cheep fake sweet all the Protein powders have. My savior was chicken broth, made from bouillon cubes. Salty and savory and easy to digest! 2 dvmp61 and Aquarius Love reacted to this
dreamangel 1 Posted February 24, 2017 I'm just a week post-op and I am really struggling to get enough liquid down me. I too am sick of the sweet Protein shakes, but unfortunately for me I've tried broths and thinned Soups and they taste revolting to me now (whereas before I'd always enjoyed soups). 1 dvmp61 reacted to this

Vee.. 5 Posted February 25, 2017 The broth makes me want to throw up as well. I'm 17 days post and I don't even eat bc of the smell. And I feel as if I'm going to regurgitate. 1 dvmp61 reacted to this
Vee.. 5 Posted February 25, 2017 Can you share ur recipe #fitnotfat 1 dvmp61 reacted to this
EmmyJ 184 Posted February 25, 2017 I've definitely been doing Soups with Protein powders and unjury chicken Soup, but I agree with some of the previous posters that even that starts to get sickening. Five days for me until purees...ugh. 1 dvmp61 reacted to this
#fitnotfat 42 Posted February 25, 2017 Hi vee.. you use a bag of split red lentils boil them for 10 mind taking starch of the top as they cook, then add about 8 carrots grated and 4 onions roughly chopped, boil for another 10 mind keep mixing as it sticks to bottom of pan, then add 2 peeled potatoes chopped up small so as to cook quick also add about 2 tablespoons of veg bouillon or to taste then cook till potatoes chunks are soft, when cooked blitz with a hand blender, this makes about a pressure cooker full of Soup mmmmm I could eat this now, hope you give it a try and enjoy it! Julie norton 2,850 Posted February 25, 2017 That seems like a lot of ingredients for 7-10 days post op. I do like my immersion blender; I am many years out... just be slow and patient. You can do this! 1 dvmp61 reacted to this
#fitnotfat 42 Posted February 25, 2017 We are allowed blended Soup in the first 4 weeks post op and if you blend properly it goes down fine, I only have about 4 tablespoons at a time but your right Julie Norton you do have to be careful. 1 dvmp61 reacted to this
Aquarius Love 2 Posted February 25, 2017 Ok. I will try this. I'm like stupefied trying to make this work. My loss has been significant since my surgery but I'm kind of losing it trying to make it. Ty so much for suggestions. And thx Julie for giving me the heads up to air on the side of caution 1 dvmp61 reacted to this
