Shannon W 14 Posted February 19, 2017 I am having gas pains a day before surgery, I'm pretty sure It's stress....To the point I am having trouble standing at this point. On liquid diet today and talking gas x. Could this get in the way of my surgery tomorrow? And does any one know if I can take magnesium citrate to clean out my bowel today the day before surgery? ceow 7 Posted February 19, 2017 After your surgery, you will have upper body pain in your shoulders and back. When they do your surg, they have to expand your stomach with gas to make more room for movement. Your body has to absorb it. It will go away in a few days. I had a laparoscopic procedure done in the past and felt like my shoulder was broken. The surg told me why after the fact. Before? I don't know, possibly change of diet. Who knows. Just wanted to share what you may feel postop.
