What's Your Goal Weight Gift to Yourself?

Recommended Posts

I'm going to have short term goals throughout my journey. But when I hit my goal weight (or very near to it), I'm going to get my lace tat piece, similar to the pic, but no flower. What's yours?

I would like a monarch butterfly after hitting my goal weight to symbolize my metamorphosis.

I just had mine ! Bye bye skin :)

I do think its important to have things to focus on, even when you are at goal weight. I have found maintaining much more difficult than the honeymoon phase. So my goal for maintaining for the next 6 months is to have 'hidden' braces to straighten up my top teeth. They arent bad but I have one tooth that needs to sit back a little more. We are all deserving of treats when we reach even smaller goals let alone get down to goal weight. Spa day, special haircut, nails done.. just treat yourself to something you wouldn't normally do.

Ooh, I hadn't thought of a trip! Might add that to my list. Oh, definitely a breast lift and possibly will need a Tummy Tuck. I'm hoping not, but we'll see.

I want to take a trip to St. Thomas or Miami. Anywhere that I can enjoy the beach life for four days or so.

I mentioned adding a trip, but I live next to a beach so my kind of trip would be Italy, Ireland, Spain , or England. There are tons of awesome deals on groupons for these.

Ooh, that's very meaningful. I was thinking what I could do to make the lace tat more meaningful in regards to losing the weight but can't think of anything. ? I do think I might place a tiny tat on the top of my hand near the thumb and forefinger, not sure what that area is called, that's says something to the tune of "never again 266" <---that being my highest weight. It'd be a constant reminder.

I am also getting a tattoo when I lose 100 lbs even though it's not my final goal.

Awesome! Have you had your surgery yet? I'd love to see it when you hit that goal! Do you know what of?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
