2 weeks no weight loss. GAINED.

Recommended Posts

So I mentioned last week that I was not losing weight. Well nothings changed. In fact I've gained 2 pounds! I'm getting very discouraged. I'm eating perfectly. Literally just Protein, veggies, and fruit. Getting in all my Water and Vitamins. Walking a mile a day, and still nothing! I'm so confused and I'm starting to feel like this surgery was for nothing.

How much Water? How much Protein? How many carbs? How far out are you?

I dont count carbs. But the only thing they would be in is my fruit and yogurt. Like I went over my diet with a dietitian and she said it was perfect

Just a stall it happens, sometimes you just need to wait them out. I've had many as you can see. Did nothing to try and move them other that wait.

Sounds like a normal gain/stall to me and it likely won't be your last. And if your nut says it's OK then it must be so you can probably just keep doing what you're doing. Personally I counted everything and would up my Water and Protein and watch the carbs, but I'm not the one getting paid to give you advice.

Are you noting down everything you are eating/drinking?

Are you constipated, exercising, due on your monthly?

Are you in a stall?

I would up your Protein to between 90-100 grams and for fruit just eat berries they are the lowest in sugars and carbs. My doctor also says to stay away from fruits until goal. What kind of yogurt are you eating? Some are pretty high in sugar. I eat Greek okios zero or dannon light and fit Greek yogurts. It is very normal to stall and gain a couple of pounds at around 2 months out. It happened to me and was feeling the same way as you. I sometimes do a liquid day or two when I see things slowing down that seems to help. I hope this helps you

Same thing with me and I'm almost 2 months out! Just be patient, I think it's our bodies way of readjusting and healing. I'm confident the weight will start coming off again as my extensive research points in this exact path! We're doing everything right and our bodies are going to get with the program really soon!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
