Is Diet Coke etc allowed? I'm 9 days post op, desperate for a fizzy drink!!

I'm getting close to a month out. Ahhhh I miss diet coke. I have been trying a bunch of different Crystal Light flavors. I think some say yes, and some say no when it comes to fizzy drinks. But 9 days post op would probably be painful.

Ohhhh I love raspberry Crystal Light. I got sent some a few years ago.
I'm in Australia & we have very limited diet/sugar free drink options where I am.

You need to forget about the carbonated beverages! Didn't your surgeon go through this with you? It expands your stomach and can do damage as well.

You've come this far, stay focused, you can get past the urges!

My lap band doctor said "NO" to anything with carbonation (no soda, beer, etc.).

They cause your stomach to swell. If you drink them on a regular basis, your lap band will slip.

I would most definitely check with your surgeon before you do. Personally, since your surgery was so recent, if it were me, I would NOT risk it.

This can be the start of a different way of eating and drinking... most docs seem to say no to soda.
It is a prominent issue in obesity
And very addictive also apparently
Check with your doc, and try a new way for awhile. It can change your life if you let it. And trying everyday seems to be a must.
