charro535 8 Posted February 17, 2017 I had my surgery Dec 19 in Brooklyn, NY. It still hurts to swallow most foods. I get this stuck feeling in my throat and chest. It is uncomfortable to eat. I stick to my shakes, smoothies and Soup. When I watch other peoples videos, they are eating all types of yummy foods. I just can't do it without feeling or getting sick. I can get down some things, but it feels horrible. I dread eating and do not feel healthy. My heartburn is off the chain but I am using medication which helps. Is anyone else this far along experiencing the same thing. Should I worry about a stricture? Are there any tests that can be done to see if everything is ok. 2 hopekate and Purseynursey reacted to this
AnneElliot 79 Posted February 25, 2017 (edited) I am 8 weeks out as well. I do not have the issues your facing. I think its possible you have a stricture which could be worsening your gerd. Check I'm with your surgeon. Yes, I believe they do an endoscopy. To see if it's a narrowing of your esophagus. Yardsleever 81 Posted February 25, 2017 I had my surgery one week before you, and have not experienced that issue. You should definitely check in with your team. 1 treber2 reacted to this
Dpasley 2 Posted March 1, 2017 Hello, I'm over a year out. I would get that feeling if the bites were too big or I didn't chew enough.
Purseynursey 4 Posted April 17, 2017 I'm in your boat too at 3 weeks. My pouch is very abnormal shaped because of my previous lap band and scar tissue. It's hour glass shaped and I'm having a terrible time. Let me know what your Dr says
Purseynursey 4 Posted April 19, 2017 Prayers please. I'm going in for another Upper GI. Pray that there is no leak and I'm making progress
charro535 8 Posted April 19, 2017 Hi! Thankfully that horrible feeling went away. Previous posters are correct when they say to eat slower and take small bites...it really helps. My Dr told me I was still healing....even with small bites it still occured but it got much better. I hope any of you suffering from this gets better too! 3 Neyy, lylasmom and hopekate reacted to this
