I wasnt allowed meat till week 6. At week 4 I was eating soft food like eggs, cottage cheese, soft vegetables and ect.
They told me if I couldn't do that next stage of food to stay on the same stage till I was ready.
Protein was hard for me cause everything felt so thick. Only Protein I was able to get down was Atkins lift protein Water.
Wasn't till 4 months post op I was able to eat all my protein from food.

My plan was 1 week full liquids, 2-3 weeks pureed, 4-5 weeks soft solids and regular diet after 8 weeks. At 4 weeks I was eating a lot of eggs, chicken salad, ricotta bake, tuna and refried Beans.

My NUT adjusts Protein intake and calories to your height and weight goals so I'm getting between 90-100 grams of protein and 700-1000 calories per day, but usually average between 800-900. I'm almost 10wks out and I'm 32 pounds down since surgery (62 total).

I also have a very forgiving sleeve. I have not found a single food I cannot eat, I have had no food aversions at all and I've tried a lot of different foods. Real sweet foods do not taste good to me to I avoid them and I keep my carbs to a low but nothing makes me sick or sits bad. I can eat about 3-5 ounces per meal depending on what I'm eating but I def feel it when I over eat.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
