amandask 45 Posted February 16, 2017 I did. I hate needles but the nurse showed me how to do it and let me do it whilst she watched and its not as bad as i thought it was going to be. Had 5 days worth and have last shot tomorrow. You can do it xMandi xx 1 Jackielo reacted to this
sherri~ 77 Posted February 16, 2017 I did. 10 days...you honestly just suck it up and pinch the skin and get it in there. Seriously, just thinking of the possibility of blood clots was enough to ensure compliance. 1 Jackielo reacted to this
HB76356 122 Posted February 17, 2017 I have a severe needle phobia myself so I get where you're coming from. Luckily the needle is so small and if you pinch the skin you don't even feel it. Olypie 41 Posted February 17, 2017 Just finished my week course of the at home shots. I never did them before but it really wasn't that bad. Then again needles don't bother me a lot either. Just getting through the first one was the hardest.
gryffen 176 Posted February 17, 2017 Yeah we get them too and I had them for 10 days after my daughter was born. Best way is to pinch skin and just dive in, pull out immediately as Ouchie if don't.And NEVER rub the area or you will bruise.Fridge Pickers Wear Bigger Knickers [emoji200] 1 Jackielo reacted to this
kimberb 323 Posted February 18, 2017 I received two heparin shots before I was discharged from hospital. 1 Jackielo reacted to this
Coah 37 Posted February 18, 2017 Heparin is common to prevent DVT in most patients. If they sent you home on Lovenox they should have given you a kit with a DVD and a little sharps container and your nurse should have had you self administer in the hospital.
