I am 5 months post op. I walk about a mile 3-4 times a week at work. I also work out 3 nights a week at a local gym. Intermittently running and walking a mile and doing light weights/many reps.

Moderate, I guess

I am 8 months out and I go to the YMCA about 3-4 times a week. I do 30-45 minutes of cardio walking around 1.6-2 miles. I also do weight machines every time I go. One day I will do my upper body then the next time I will do my lower body. I switch off each time.

I started cize 6 week training. It's everyday for six weeks. I don't think I can hang everyday. I also have a bow flex and try to get some strength training every other day. I'm just so exhausted after work lately that I really haven't been consistent.

7 months post op. I exercise 5 days a week-- three days hard exercise like running or swimming and two days weight training plus 30 mins walking the dogs.

Should add that I'm not as consistent as I could be!

That is what I have been doing! I am just a little past 2 months out and do this same type of exercise each week. This week I have dropped the ball and only gone once so far, but I am going tonight, tomorrow, and Saturday so I can get it all in! :P

@kayshabear Thats great! It can be hard to find the time sometimes! I couldn't exercise right after surgery due to complications so I feel like I am behind! I am loving the gym though!

Yes! I just started the last couple of weeks making it a regular thing, but its so hard for me to get motivated to go by myself! My sister usually goes with me since my husband works nights and I work days so we never see each other much. But this week my sister is out of town so I am accountable for myself and I have dropped the ball haha. Going to make myself go tonight because I know how important it is! I want to lose at least 14 more pounds by my anniversary trip in April so I gotta kick my butt in gear!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
