you will always want to eat slow to give your body time to register what you have eaten. yes.. the food gets cold quickly. I used some thermal cups for Soup in the early months. I am about 5 months and have to remind myself to slow down. I work in a fast paced office, so slowing down for lunch is hard for me. you won't always have to eat as slowly as you are now, but it is a good practice. I have, too many times, been caught eating too fast (now that I can physically do it a little more) and then am miserable for a long time. It is better to take it easy.

As I began to eat more, I found the smaller Snacks I eat only take a few minutes to eat. I turn the timer on my phone on to help me slow down.

I also found that I can make a Protein Drink last longer than food.< br>

There is a funny post observation someone made that you know you are a wls patient when you are a connoisseur of cold food that used to be warm! It is so true.

Keep up the good fight. I find that I have just gotten used to it but eating slow is important. All the best!

I bought a yeti cup. It keeps beverages cold or hot for 24-35 hours. I use this for my coffee, shakes Soups. I read to buy baby food warmers for food. Might try that for when I'm home. But I'm also getting use to cold food. Haha

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
