HSH 0 Posted September 26, 2007 I have the worst time with red meat, not matter how much I chew it still gets stuck. Sick of chicken and fish :-( Does anyone else have issues with red meat? Hala
Wheetsin 714 Posted September 26, 2007 I gave it up. I tried to eat a hamburger patty post-op, and it never really chewed all the way, had a horrible texture, and was so not worth all of the chewing/effort it took to try and eat it. Try ground turkey. You can use it as a red meat substitute in just about any dish. We had turkey chili lastnight, turkey meatloaf the week before, etc.
brandda 0 Posted September 26, 2007 I have not tried anything but hamburger so far, but I have to chew it like crazy to get it down.
dawn5798 0 Posted September 29, 2007 Even after two years, I cannot digest red meat, very well--we eat very little of it now. I am turning into a chicken or fish... Lot of Veggies and fresh fruit, yogarts...After all this time, I am just now starting to introduce whole wheat/grains back into my diet. My stomach doesn't do well with any breads, either. Did find potatoe substitutes...Sun Chokes or pureed Cauliflower. I cook a lot of stews and soups--family likes them. Still do not eat pastas of any kind. My Cholesteral went from 209 down to 121...that was a nice surprise. Good luck Dawn in AZ

Sick of chicken and fish :-( Does anyone else have issues with red meat? Hala Different people will have different experiences with different foods. Some will tolerate it, some won't. Every time you get a fill you will have to re-learn what YOU can tolerate, and your tolerances will not be the same as anyone else's.
