I'm 2 months out from my RNY and my life resolves around my surgery. I'm sure a large part of that is because I stay at home all day, mostly to myself.

I was the same pre-op, so this isn't exactly new. I just feel like the same distractions that helped me get through my days before (social media, Netflix, writing, Pinterest, etc.) don't give me the same kind of satisfaction right now.

I do like spending time with my mom and my sister and I try to make that time with them as normal as possible. I'll eat, take my meds, etc. when I need to but other than that I try to keep my mind off my surgery and just try enjoying their company like always.

I joke that I feel like a robot because my mind is always focused on fluids, Protein, Vitamins, etc. that it doesn't seem like there's much room for anything else.

1. If/When did your daily routine start to feel normal and not so much like a chore?

2. How do you manage to have fun, etc. while still taking care of your daily needs?

You're doing exactly what you should be doing for the stage you're in... you're building great habits so you can keep them as life trickles back in and you have to constantly find balance.

Give it a few more weeks and your energy and confidence will take you to new places and new people and you'll be able to enjoy it! Eventually those robot routines will become natural, but I'm 10 ml this out and still making weekly adjustments to my routine...

Anyway, it gets easy and better-I promise! ?

I agree good advice! It takes a few months and then you'll get used to a routine and also realize you can live a normal life and eat much more then originally thought...which can be good or bad! And clothes shopping will become fun! Picking out cute outfits and going out and meeting people and living life.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
