For those who have been reading my post I have a BIG update. I have been complaining nonstop to my doctors and been to the ER 100x with neausea, vomiting and severe abdominal pain. I went to the ER today and was treated and sent home. When I went to get into bed my stomach started to hurt badly again. I went back to the ER and and there happen to be a new ER dr that I have never seen before. He suggested another CT scan and at first I refused Bc I have had about 6 of them in the past 2 weeks. He explained to me when you have Bariatric Surgery you should be well aware you could be subjected to several CT scans. So I hesitantly agreed. He said he was going to use contact dye orally and IV but this time instead of eating for the contrast to pass he wanted to get the scan within 5 minutes of drinking. Well wouldn't you know a bowel obstruction appeared. I am happy and upset at the same time. However I will still be following up for my thyroid testing but feel a bit relieved that I'm not crazy!! So if you have any issues and you keep getting kicked around don't give up and keep on pressing!!!

Hey All! I had a huge change today in regards to my health. From my original post I was in the ER on 2/13 and I was told I had a iliac obstruction. The hospital told me that I would be admitted and if within 48 hours it has not moved they would cut it out. I waited until in the am and still no X-ray. I was getting annoyed and called everyone I could call. Finally someone from the administrative staff came to my room. I was told that I needed more X-rays. I was pissed beyond belief and refused them. I signed out AMA. I headed back to my hospital Cleveland Clinic Weston. There I was brought in immediately and given fluids and pain meds. I did end up doing another X-ray by my surgeons request. So I just had my X-ray and will be updated later tonight. I will keep everyone updated! Oh one last thing. Each time I had them put in an IV my site would swell and hurt. They tried 3x and all failed. So when I was complaining about pain I wasn't even getting it was because all the meds were stuck there and I wasn't getting the meds. Uggggg

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
