Post op ladies- what's your smallest dress size after reaching your goal weight?

Recommended Posts

Long story short my friend had the same sleeve procedure a year and a half ago. I had mine in december. We were roughly the same size before but i'm shorter. She seems to think i can get down to a 0 or a size 2 within a year. That seems unrealistic to me. I'm thinking a 4 might be more realistic.

So for those of you post op ladies who have met your goal weight, what was your smallest dress size and how long did it take you to get there?

My take is it depends where you start from. If you are 400 lbs, 200 may be perfect. If you start at 210....
What size you can live at and maintain is my guess.
I go between 10-12 and couldn't be happier!
My highest was 272. Never again!!

Makes perfect sense to me. Congrats on your progress!!!

I think im just self concious because we started out at the same size, i want to lose roughly the same amount of weight. And i need to get over that.

Well what size you wear depends on a lot of things besides your weight. Like how much muscle mass you retain and how you are built. I wear an 8 or a 10 right now. Few people my height and weight wear a size 8,. I am kind of in between sizes 8s are a little tight, 10s are too big.

I could easily end up a 4 if I lose the rest of my weight. I had a lot to lose so it is going to take me 2 years to lose my weight but I knew that going in.

Comparing yourself to someone else is a recipe for failure, just don't do it.

I'm a size 6 now, and still 18 pounds from my goal. I should end up at 4 or 2.

But I'm only 5'3", so it's appropriate. At a size 6, I still have a spare tire.

@vinasu ok perfect so then for me it would be feesable to end up at a 4 or 2. I'm only 5'1 and at my heaviest i started out as a 14. How long did it take you to get to where you are now?

Girl, when you lose some weight and start feeling good about your new body, you will know what the size is. Don't stress out, don't compete with her. It's all about you, and where you feel comfy. You may get to size 8 and think, "damn, I look good!!" and worried about size 0 or 2 for nothing. Just sayin! :D Don't forget it's all about how you feel. I used to love myself at a 14 and I am only 5'2". I used to work out and like it.

Its been 1 year and 3 months since my surgery and yesterday I weighed in at 134. I started out 284 and size 22 I now wear a size 6 really comfortably, no muffin top no being squished lines. I am also 5 ft tall. I agree with the ladies that you need to find where you are comfortable and Celebrate your new body. Some people are not built to be in a size 0-2, if you are like me and big boned, or want to exercize and tone up then those smaller sizes might be another year off and require you to do without any carbs, extra Protein and working out 2-3 hours a day. Those decisions are individual and up to you. Congradulations on your success.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
