biggestloser85 1 Posted February 12, 2017 You will be very exhausted for about 3 months after surgery because your body is not used to not getting the calories it used to. I would just work out a little at a time and don't over due it until your strong enough. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Martha Parker-mcneal 166 Posted February 12, 2017 I walked the halls in the hospital and then walked every day when I got home. very short distances with slowly building up time and speed. it took about 3 to 4 months before I had any energy so expect that. most everyone in our group feels the same way. it will only come back once you graduate to real food and start getting in all the nutrients you need. healthyliving23 16 Posted February 12, 2017 I was told not to do any exercise until 6 weeks post op to try and prevent things like hernias etc. Surgeon said it takes that amount of time to heal and like others said, energy levels will be very low for 2-3 months. Take it easy. A friend of mine exercised too early, and ended up injuring herself making the process that much more frustrating. Good luck!

clc9 644 Posted February 12, 2017 Walking is good from day one. Anything that involves lifting anything or crunching like situps is bad for about 6 weeks.Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
