Flu/strep throat question

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had the flu or strep? I'm 100% I have one or the other. It came on so sudden this evening.

Can we take regular antibiotics and Tamiflu? Obviously I know I nsaids...no steroids.

Please help!

really watch the contents as they slip aspirin in everything but yes. you can take just about anything if it does not hurt your tummy. the one I use is like warm tea and very soothing as well as helps me get the Water in which is vital while sick.

Tamiflu has to be prescribed and usually within 24-72 hrs after exposure (I think). I had the flu 1 wk post op and had to break open Tamiflu pills...it was absolutely awful! Definitely go in and get tested for either flu and/or strep and if it's either one, your doc will prescribe the correct meds. Hoping that it's neither b/c both are awful to deal with. Get well soonď

I had it this weekend as well and the vomiting was horrendous. Nothing to come up and my muscles around my stomach were spawning and felt like nausea. Went to ER for fluids Friday and got Zofran for nausea. Today is my first day of normal and being out of bed

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
