Itchy under bra band

Recommended Posts

I am 4 months post sleeve surgery. Doing well but have developed an itchy band that's starts at upper incision in front under bra and continues to sides under arm. Gets a bit red and hot not really a rash but looks redder than other skin. I asked my Bariatric nurse about it and she suggested it wasn't surgery related. Ordinary lotions don't help. It doesn't seem to matter which bra I wear. Has anyone else experienced this?

Sounds like irritation from either soap powder or potential sweat. Us ladies all know how bras love keeping soap in the sweat bands around the edges. Try Dermol is possible, use as a soap substitute and also as an emollient. It's the only thing that clears my interigo

I'm surprised the nurse didn't give you a cream for it. I suggest going to your primary then if your surgeon didn't help. If regular lotions don't help you may need something medicated. I have to use medicated cream.

Might be yeast infection (candidiasis of breast) Use lotramin or tinactin cream (athletes foot cream) to kill fungi.

Thanks ladies. I rinsed all my bras and it seemed better for awhile. Used cortisone cream and it went away. Now it's back in a different area. My lower back and butt cheek area. Trying anti fungal cream now. Wondering if it cld be a supplement I'm taking sporadically called Strong Bones.

I get sweaty boob rash (it's annoying) and hydrocortisone cream such as canasten works really well. I use potassium permanganate baths for when my intertrigo flares up which kills it immediately

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
