Welcome Betty, you have posted some interesting messages tonight. If you have been looking into lapband for some time now, I am suprized you called it "an elastic" in an earlier post. Where are you from? Do you have access to a surgeon, with knowledge of the band?

Hi, and welcome.

I'm not sure I understand your message, but would like to help if I can. Do I read correctly that you are trying to gain 75 kilos? Why? Is that to reach some kind of weight minimum your provider/surgeon requires?

Hi wheetsin i think you've replied to me instead of fat4lyfe, what i think Betty was trying to say is that her aim is to be 75kgs not gain it.:rose: lol.

Hi Betty! I remember being where you are in the process. Took me 5 years to commit to doing it and it is a decision I do not regret. It took me that amt of time to really decide that I was ready to do what was necessary to be successful with the surgery in changing my attitude toward food and my eating habits. I hope you will continue to think about it. It has changed my life! Given it back actually!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
