lauratro 67 Posted February 10, 2017 I was looking to get some ideas of meals everyone ate after gastric bypass. I will be having my surgery in a few months and want to start eating exactly how I will be eating after my surgery now. Thanks!Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App
Airstream88 361 Posted February 10, 2017 Doesn't your surgeon have a Nutritionist working with him/her? If you have the opportunity to meet with a Bariatric nutritionist, I highly recommend it. Mine required me to attend classes to prepare me for eating right after bypass and then again prior to transitioning to real food. My program is 5 mini meals a day , every 3 - 4 hours, to include low fat Protein, 2 multigrain carbs and 2 fruit servings daily, and healthy fats. lauratro 67 Posted February 10, 2017 Yes they do have one. My insurance requires 7 nutrition appointments but does not cover their nutritionist. So I do them with my PCPSent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App
Pazza 199 Posted February 10, 2017 There are a few different blogs out there and I really like the world according to egg face. She is several years out from surgery and has a lot of good ideas. http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.comSent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App 3 lauratro, GBLady41 and Chrisanna reacted to this
Harsha 168 Posted February 10, 2017 I think also it will be up to your body. I eat a lot of salads, mostly cesar salads with chicken or salmon cut up on it. I have a friend that had the same surgery, and she can't even eat one piece of lettuce without getting sick. You will find out what works for you and what doesn't. I try to stick to clean eating. 2 lauratro and Pazza reacted to this
Vinasu 621 Posted February 12, 2017 I eat regular, home cooked meals with my family. I just skip the carbs. If we're having spaghetti, I pour sauce over miracle noodles for myself. Roast chicken and mashed potatoes? I just make mashed cauliflower for everyone. I eat three meals a day, and my family eats the same. I just eat mindfully and eat less. Freeb 25 Posted February 14, 2017 Whats miracle noodles?
Vinasu 621 Posted February 15, 2017 Whats miracle noodles? They are shiritaki noodles. They have almost no calories. They don't taste great on their own, but used as a substitute for rice or Pasta with a strong- flavored sauce they're good. I eat them with spaghetti sauce, curry, bibimbap...basically anywhere the taste is less important than texture. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Miracle-B01408-Miracle-Fettuccini-6x7-Oz/31017421?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=2060&adid=22222222228020523088&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=52360323255&wl4=pla-79465170375&wl5=9032835&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=113842238&wl11=online&wl12=31017421&wl13=&veh=sem

blondie66 271 Posted February 18, 2017 The first 8 weeks you should have a weekly schedule and meal plan. After 8 weeks can start eating normal food but low sugar and fat. Keep up Protein Shakes to ensure you're getting enough Protein cause u won't able to eat enough. After a year you can eat most foods. 1 lauratro reacted to this
