Chef getting sleeved

Recommended Posts

I am 21 and I work in a restaurant full time as a cook. Surgery is on feb 21 and I'm 3 days into my liquid pre op diet. So far everything is great I couldn't be more excited or nervous about surgery! Not having a hard time keeping my hands off the food at work but it seems like everyone else is having a hard time. My coworkers don't all know I'm having surgery and they try and push food on me. Debating on just telling everyone I'll be having surgery cause I'm not sure how to explain my rapid weight loss not even that it needs an explanation but the nagging won't stop.

Congratulations, so excited for you! & yeah maybe it's not a bad idea to tell them since you're so close to your date. They might be very supportive and stop trying to force food on you lbvs. I know evening though I'm still in the waiting process I haven't told many people at all; in fact only my sister/best friend/high school friend who just did the surgery 7mo ago/& my mom knows. Everyone else I am going to tell the day before or day of surgery. I don't have a great support system & I don't want to hear any negativity during my waiting process.

But best wishes to you on your surgery date ????

Good idea on keeping it quiet till your date I've heard a few negative comments and they do not help they just piss me off. I don't know why people think their opinions are so relevant. Me telling someone I'm having surgery is not to be confused with me opening the door for their ideas on the topic lol
Thank you!
Good luck to you too :)

Yeah. I think a lot of people think we want their consent or to run it by them first smh. & yes it will piss you off. I seen a post on fb about a gir saying basically it really doesn't count if you get surgery etc & that it's the easy way out....she has no idea I'm prepping for the surgery but it made me upset that people think this is the easy way out & its 100% not. However you get to your goal is your business/your choice & I congratulate anyone that lost weight anyway they could; by accident/ on purpose or through surgery. So I can't wait to do my surgery because I am going to shed light on those with her mindset & opinions. & thank you.

A good start is just telling them you are on a diet... see what sort of feedback you get from that.

The easy way omg. A family friend lost a lot of weight through diet and exercise and heard I was getting the surgery and said oh man that's the hard way. I totally agree with you. But yeah I might do that and just tell them I'm dieting. I just woke up today finally feeling pretty weak and tired. I didn't get in all my Water yesterday or my third Protein Shake and I definitely feel it.

I know the food worker atmosphere, it's full of a lot of joking around and I can see them pushing food on you out "fun" There are two approaches you can take with them.

1. Tell them you are trying to change your lifestyle to become healthy. Let them know how serious you are and ask them sternly and politely to stop pushing food on you. Let them know the importance of this for you and your health.

2. Just tell them you are having surgery if you think that might make for a better work environment and less stress on you. You might be surprised about how most can be very supportive.

Just do the best thing you can do to make this early stage of your phases easier and without the added stress. I only told my mother, I don't work so no need to tell others. I just told anyone who asks me that I am changing my eating habits with high Protein and low carbs. This has worked just fine.

Best of luck, keep coming back to this forum or others that you like as well. It's a great supportive atmosphere!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
