Berry78 4,261 Posted February 10, 2017 When I was in middle school, we were admiring an opera singer's voice. Our music instructor said we'd need to gain about 200lbs to be able to sound like that. Well, I showed him! Berry78 4,261 Posted February 10, 2017 Cindy, the best way to improve your singing voice is practice! Sing as much as you can, and you WILL get better!Heavier people tend to have deeper pitched voices than lighter people. So... lose weight, and your voice might sound a bit higher pitched I think it is to do with the amount of flesh in and around the throat. He told me this after looking down my theist and noting that my epiglottis (i.e. Throat opening) is wider since I've lost the weight.
