I wasn't even obsessing over any of the wrong foods but those Rotisserie Chickens were calling my name laying there looking all Sexy.

Yup, they're soooo shameless. I've been doing whole chickens in the crock-pot (slow-cooker) lately and find they are actually every bit as good and far healthier. I leave the skin on and give the whole thing a Mrs Dash Herb and Garlic massage and lay it on top of veggies, with some no-salt chicken broth. I try not to eat the skin but cooking with the skin helps keep them as moist as the ones at the store and mine aren't pumped full of fats and salt.

I'm a terrible (lazy) cook so if I can do this anyone can. LOL

I think tomorrow will be interesting because its Clear Liquids followed by a 2.am Wake-up to catch a 5:30 am flight to Mx and nothing by mouth after 12 am. The next Several days have been talked about for 15 years but now its time to set my Fear of the unknown aside and make a change for the BETTER!!!

So I am 24 days Post Op and down 27lbs from my Surgery weight. As I look back I realize although it was difficult it was so worth going into Surgery in the most Healthy state that I could get in. I really plan on creating some low carb options for all of those coming behind us that will be enduring the liquid diet. Puree is almost worse than liquid because it takes 10 or so Delicious ingredients and makes it taste like Blah lol.

I am 12 days from my one year Surgiversary and I tell you it is as hard today as it was a year ago. I have finally admitted to myself that I have a food Addiction Duh I know right. I always thought that I could quit anytime I want but now I find that I have to adhere to a Schedule. So now its 3 small meals and one afternoon snack. Stay away from the Carbs and the Sugars and Cheat Days turn into Cheat months for me, so its better just not to do them. I am still a work in Progress.

Those roasted chickens lurk right next to the fresh baked bread in my store. Talk about obnoxious evil, stress upon my wavering convictions. Wanted to spray air freshener but with my luck it would be Apple cinnamon. Help, please remove me from here!😦

Duly noted that all grocery shopping for 1 month before and 3 months after must be done by my husband. I'll be sure to tell him that was a direct order from my dietitian. lol

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
