healthyliving23 16 Posted February 9, 2017 Hello, can anyone share an app they like to track their food intake? My fitness pal seems like it's too time consuming to enter all of the necessary information. Any ideas would be helpful. ThanksSent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
ReneK 107 Posted February 9, 2017 myfitnesspal is the best thing out there, as far as I'm concerned. I've logged for over 400 days and my surgeon says logging is one of the keys to maintaining. It takes a little time but their database is huge and you can find almost everything -- or something close enough. Also, you can cut and paste recipes that you may cook at home. I love it. The time it takes to log things also makes sure you're thinking about what you're consuming! 1 Jill_Me reacted to this

Airstream88 361 Posted February 9, 2017 (edited) I have used My Fitness Pal and other electronic apps but I prefer to write things down. I have a little book I bought from Amazon - it's called the "food Journal". I don't track calories, FAT, CARBS, etc only Grams of Protein and my Fluid intake per my NUT's plan. But there is space to track them all if you want. Its simple and doesn't require any devices or the Internet (except to look up Protein grams) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BCNM55C/ref=sr_ph_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486660494&sr=sr-1&keywords=Food+Journal Edited February 9, 2017 by Airstream88 1 mrs_ross26 reacted to this
healthyliving23 16 Posted February 9, 2017 Thank You! MyFitnessPal is ok, but it's time consuming with my crazy schedule like most of us I'm sure. Thanks for the information!Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
GrrlAnn 177 Posted February 9, 2017 I am early in my journey but I really like Baritastic. It's meant for bariatric patients so it focuses on things we need (e.g. highlighting Protein and Water intake). But the food logging process seems about the same on every app (Fitbit, MFP). Not sure you can get away from it. Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App

Jill_Me 100 Posted February 10, 2017 I paid for the premium membership on MyFitnessPal to keep track of my macronutrients (protein, carbs, fat etc) and have it connected to my Fitbit as well. I find it to be pretty user friendly with entering foods, searching for the ones in already in the database, and changing up goals and such. I also have a few friends on there that I keep in touch with. I need to be better about it, so maybe i should get more friends .Anyone want to be my MyFitnessPal friend?
