Hi guys, what's the usual time frame from first phone call "I'm interested in surgery" to the surgery date if you go through insurance? (Assuming you are approved of course) Also, I have Kaiser (LA).. would like to know how hard are they on approving you and the time frame as well. Thank you!

I have Kaiser I just went to my first orientation last night the area I live in which is outside of Bakersfield California you have to do a 12 week class called options I start my first class on February 21st and they told me once you complete your classes and you do all the pre-ops and everything which most people get it all done during The 12 weeks. Also they told us last night you need to lose 10% of your body weight the doctors like to see at least that much come off before surgery and when you're finished with the classes and if you've completed everything and you've lost the 10% usually you get an appointment with the surgeon within 1-2 weeks and then 3 weeks after that you're having surgery.

And for me I had just seen my doctor and she had always been talking about my weight with me and I asked for a referral to have bariatric surgery and she said no problem and it probably took about 4-7 days to get the referral letter to call regarding orientation.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
