Happy to be banded!

Recommended Posts

Hi!

Been read'in so many posts, I wanted to join in with you all.

It's been six weeks since I was banded with a French Mid Lap Band. My Doctor and his team came from "Getbandednow.com" in Tijuana, Mexico. They are very kind and skilled professionals, trained in France. When I researched my Doctor's credentials, my mind was set at ease. I'm recommending them to do Lap Band Surgery for friends who's insurance does not cover weight loss issues.

At Sanoviv medical center, in Rosarito, they have never had a staff infection. Some felt it was a "lock down detox", high end spa, medical-alternative facility. There were patients (including Doctors and health care professionals), from many different countries. Functional medicine is practiced there. They use the holistic approach to health care.

The suite had a balcony view of the ocean, Egyptian cotton sheets, and marble tile in the bathroom. Organic cotton clothing was provided. There was a sense of peace everywhere, except the dining room. Why? People were begging the chefs for more food. They treat nutrition as medicine:hungry:. While most complained about their colorful salads, I was content to drink my organic apple juice-feeling the new sensations of my lap band.

My lap band package included medical testing, nutrition consults, psych consults, medical Dr. consults, allergy testing, lymphatic massages (sigh), all sorts of additional classes and bio energy testing stuff I did not understand. The place is amazing.

My husband even lost weight and he understands the nutrition and lifestyle changes we need to make.

I love Mexico! A few hours after surgery, I walked outside and sat in the sunshine. There was a slight breeze off the ocean. They even did foot massage that afternoon. Was fortunate to not have the shoulder pain from the surgery. I cannot believe how good I feel! Such clean small incisions!

Since I've dropped 25 pounds, am able to move without back pain, and with more agility. I feel optimistic. My stomach growls before each meal and I am hungry! Looking forward to my first fill.

Sure hope to learn lots, with all the support and candor on this board.

So did they do your surgery for free with this advertisement - or have you even been banded ??

I think you should show us pics of the facility in Mexico since it is so wonderful:confused:

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
