OP I'm sorry! I hope you can get your levels back up and feeling better soon. It took courage to share this. All the best to you.

Chewable Vitamins can be great.
Just want to say that Nascobal offers both pills to swallow and chewable. I talk about nascobal a lot on here but partially because it makes my life so much easier and helps me get my vitamins. Also only 25 dollars a month for me because it is a prescription.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

I also use Nascobal. I thought the chewables would be great, but for some reason, they made me sick to my stomach. I switched it to the tablets. Looking forward to getting this shipment in.

I'm still stuck on the odour?

Yes...maybe people are just too polite to tell me I stink, but I feel fairly odorless...I have never heard of the RNY Reek.

In fact, I smell much better (to myself). Before, I could always smell my own sweat. Now I don't...

It was offered to me through my surgeon's office. My nutritionist actually presented it to me and sent it in from the doctor's office. Call your doctor's office to see if they participate. It has to be sent in from the doctor's office because it is actually a prescription.

As to the odor question... I sat in a small office for 2 hours next to a bypass patient (12 years out). She was normal bmi, and no odor.

Possibly they are referring to gas or skin infections.

I am 13 years out and have never had an odor other than the normal ones when I really work out and sweat or sometime when I eat broc and have gas real bad. lol never have ever heard of this one at any of the support groups or Facebook sites I use either.

I think even without a weight loss surgery in the picture your current diet and lifestyle would get you sick. Dehydration is very easy to achieve and most people dont drink nearly enough liquids as it is.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
