Any March Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

FINALLY approved! I got a big packet from my surgeons office with post op diet info, but pre-op just says "only Clear Liquids the day before surgery". Does that mean I don't have a pre-op diet?? I'm not complaining, just confused lol.

Side note: February sleevers had a Facebook group. Would anyone be interested in a private group like that?

Hi I'm booked for March 21st not sure if my post has been seen as it's my first time..I'm having mine done in Luton n dunstable has anyone else had their surgery done there x

Not in Luton but getting mine down privately in East london / Essex area. I'm having mine exactly 1 week before too.

Have you had a pre op diet from your surgeon.
Got mine on Friday. It's pretty tame. Had the option to do liquids or low carb food. And only for 10-14 days before the operation.

Decided I'm going to try and learn a bit more about nutrition over this period, so that when I do eat again I'm only taking in food that's beneficial to my body. Really want to use this operation as a reset in my way of thinking about food.

Sorry for ramble

Hi evie I'm getting excited yet nervous ..I previously had wls 33 years ago I had 20yrs of being my goal weight. Since then was severely malnourished and my weight continued to rise. And lots of problems I'm having a reversal of original surgery and a sleeve to replace. They no longer do the type of surgery I originally had. I havnt rcvd my previous op diet yet they said it would be a 10 day one too. And choice of low carb or liquid diet..doesn't sound to bad aye hun :D like you it's a good way of rethinking what your eating x

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
