Anyone with experience using an app (example attached) for timing of your meals, how long to chew, when to drink? Has it helped?

The drinking thing!! I had to do this for the first few months to remind myself to push liquids. It helped a lot if you're forgetful/busy. My main issue was at work because I don't always have access to a bathroom so I had to be real crafty on when I drank and didn't.

I'm forgetful and busy, so I tend to just, well, forget to eat, drink, etc. And when I do eat, I'm eating way too fast. So, I'm thinking to maybe try it out. ??? Not sure yet. Thank you for your input!

So funny. I was just researching this myself. I'm going to school learning about app development. I already decided I'm going to take on making Bariatric-centric tools and apps as a personal project. A quality eating/meal timer is definitely on that list.

Not saying you should wait around for that lol! It's just surprising to me that there are so few apps aimed at WLS patients.

Yeah. I think it is. I going to purchase it and see about it. I guess I'll make updates on the app. We'll see how it goes. I've got maybe two to three months to get a hold of myself. The workout part is easy, it's my awful habits.

So far, it's ahh-ight. Too much to navigate when tired. So, for now, I'm happy for the timers.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
