I'm 3 weeks post op. Is there anything I can get at Starbucks? I miss the white chocolate mocha, but know I can't have it again and that's fine.I'm just simply wanting some Starbucks.

coffee will send your stomach into chaos. It will hurt and make you sick. There is too much sugar. I started doing their tea latte's and those seem to be fine as there is no coffee and less sugar.

I've tried a tall skinny vanilla latte, 100 cal, 9 Protein it didn't sit right with me. I was 6 weeks post-op. Now I just stick to a tall blonde drip with stevia.

Of course always check with your NUT. Not all of them will approve coffee.

Every one is different. Starbucks is a staple in my life. Pike Place has the most caffeine and that bothers my stomach. Dark roast is better because less caffeine. Lattes have even less caffeine. I get white mochas made with skim milk and just get two pumps of Syrup in a grande which is half normal and much less calories. Plus I don't like them that sweet any longer.

Thank you! I will have to try the mocha this way.

I don't drink coffee, but I am a Starbucks addict. However, being less than a week post-op means that the only thing I can drink there is herbal (mint) tea. I have to say I find it really soothing on my new tummy.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
