ecoreen94 37 Posted February 6, 2017 Has anyone tried the New whey Protein Shots? Are they worth it? Protein shakes make me sick and i need a supplement because I'm not making my intake at all. If you have suggestions as well let me know! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Airstream88 361 Posted February 6, 2017 I don't know about the Protein shots. Could you be Lactose intolerant now? Sometimes that happens to people after surgery. Have you tried Fairlife Milk? 8oz has 13 grams of Protein and you can put in sugar free Hershey's Syrup to change the taste.
ecoreen94 37 Posted February 6, 2017 I haven't tried milk after surgery besides the Protein shakes. I can tolerate cheese so I'm not sure if I'm lactose intolerant. But I make have to use fairlife if I don't find a solution soon. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
nctider 4 Posted February 7, 2017 I use them but not before mixing with Water. I usually mix one with about 24 oz of Water. If you drink it by itself it's pretty nasty tasting. I am not a fan on lactose so this is a good alternative. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Sullie06 1,013 Posted February 7, 2017 I cannot stomach Protein shakes and it took me about 4 weeks and a ton of different brands to find what I like. Atkins makes a drink called Lift Protein, they are thin like a Water, come in 3 flavors and the taste is not bad at all. They have 20 g of protein, no fat and no sugar. They have been a life saver as my nut wants me to get in 90-100 grams a day at 6wks post op
