I'm set for April 5th. I was originally set for September 2016 but one of my pre-opt tests showed an issue I needed to address. That's done and I'm finally rescheduled and hopefully on my way. Fingers crossed!

I have my surgery scheduled for April 5th!!!!! YAY!!!! I am doing my 2 week liquid diet starting today.

I'm April 5th too! I'm new to this forum but am glad to have found surgery buddies. I just started my pre-op diet. It's actually not required but I want to have the best chance for success possible, so here I am. Already cranky!

Welcome!!

My surgeon requires 2 weeks of clears. 4-5 Protein Shakes, broth, sugar free popsicles, sugar free hello and sugar free caffeine free uncarbonated drinks. This pre op diet is no joke. I'm on day 6/14...

I don't have a pre-op diet either. Just a one day restriction when it gets closer to April 5th. But I also started one just to get my mind in the right mood. To prove to myself that I can do this!

Yay!!! Congratulations! Waiting until next week to find out your date stinks, but at least you know that you'll find out soon. Enjoy your last days of eating freely. :71_smiling_imp:

Tomorrow can't come any faster. I'll post my date tomorrow as soon as I find out.

Hey guys, what kind of broth did you buy/will buy for after the surgery? I'm not sure which one is the best choice.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
