Need approval.

In my case my weight management process started in September 2015, after a long an arduous process of dietary changes and weight control, and numerous approvals from different professions, got my 12-week pre-op liquid diet date of Feb 1st 2017 so had a rough date of April 20-26 until got a call late January with an OR date of April 20. They hold the date with the hospital pending confirmation, then it's done.

The process for me might be a little different though. While the process is more rigid in Canada (have to appease the gatekeepers of approval), there's no concern or worry about coverage, as long as you have approval it's covered 100% by universal healthcare.

I have consult date set. I start pre op diet in one week. Then they set surgery date for sometime first of April. I haven't been nervous until now. I'm having anxious thoughts of how much Protein I need to drink and finding something I like. I bought two samples of Isopure (grape ands fruit punch) which is 40 G protein but they are huge and you have to drink two in a day. I can't hardly stand the taste now. How in the world will i be able to stand it if nauseous after surgery. Any advice on what kind to get that's tolerable? I think I wouldn't be as nervous if I could just nail down what Protein Shots to get that taste decent and give you the most protein for your buck. Any suggestions appreciated..

Look up New Whey Nutrition Liquid Protein. They look like shots but have 42g of protein in them. U could probably even Water them down.

I've been trying the Premier Protein shakes, not bad, I like the chocolate and Carmel, the strawberry n cream was too sweet but added a banana and was OK.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
