lysie1022 22 Posted February 4, 2017 I'm one week post op gastric sleeve. I've lost 20 lbs within this past week. Is that normal? Has anyone experienced such dramatic weight-loss in that short span of time? keezawest6 0 Posted February 4, 2017 I have ...you have to remember that you are loosing Water weight or fluids . so it will be like that until you start eating some solids. Watch your body very closely tho Sent from my LGMS550 using the BariatricPal App
lysie1022 22 Posted February 4, 2017 Oh great to know I'm not alone. Thanks for your reply. I was just wondering how so much so fast. But yeah I'm watching as I go. Thanks again Sent from my SM-G530T1 using the BariatricPal App
anonmom 95 Posted February 4, 2017 Also depends on your starting weight. Higher BMI means quicker weight loss at first. I'm one week out and only lost 8 pounds, but I was only 221 the day of my surgery Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App 1 lysie1022 reacted to this

Pam_2-06-2017 375 Posted February 12, 2017 Same here. Only 7 days post op and have lost nearly 15 pounds. I attribute most of it to Water weight. Think about all the salt you are no longer getting. That alone will hold 15 pounds of water in the body. I have noticed some physical changes with the loss of water weight. My hands and face don't look puffy or bloated. My rings are spinning. It's real weight loss but man it is pretty dramatic. 1 SleevyB reacted to this
