Hi all. I had GB on 1-18 and just started puréed foods. I didn't get a sample diet, just a list of foods to eat: Baby food, cottage cheese, yogurt etc. don't even know when to drink Protein Shakes in between all this. I can only see my nut 3x a year, and haven't even seen her since I had my surgery. I tried to see her the day of my 1 week check up, but was told that I could not because they wouldn't be able to bill insurance for it because it was same day as doctor visit. Can anyone give me a sample diet or some advice in what you are doing during the puréed stage? I was only told by doctor to get in about 60g Protein. I almost feel like I was just discarded now that I had the surgery. Thanks!!

I'm sorry to hear you weren't provided with any guidelines.

I googled for you "pureed bariatric diet after surgery". In addition to the link I am going to provide below I would try googling what I did.

http://www.upmc.com/Services/bariatrics/approach/post-surgery/diet/Pages/pureed.aspx seemed a good place to start. cut and paste the link

Best wishes

My puréed diet is 3 "meals" a day. Meal 1: 1oz Protein, 1oz fruit. Meal 2: 1oz Protein, 1oz starch. Meal 3: 1oz protein, 1oz vegetable. Then I have Protein shakes (about 60g) in addition to those meals. I'm struggling to get creative with it....but it's fairly easy to follow.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
