Such great comments in this thread. After some time to reflect, I honestly think a lot of it is my face, lol! I am now at surgeon's goal of 165lbs (I am 5'9") and want to continue to my goal of 140ish. I did have a consult with plastics, and was told that a small amount of filler in he mid-face would help a lot. I look a bit tired and older, and he said that filler would restore mid-face volume loss.

When figuring out goal weights, keep 2 things in mind:

1. Extra skin has weight. If a healthy BMI = 140lbs, most bariatric patients probably have 5-10 pounds of loose skin. So the patient is equally healthy at 145 or 150.

2. Most patients gain back about 10lbs after reaching goal.

So if your ultimate goal is 140, try to get to 135, and don't panic when the scale gets back to 145.

Long story short.. have a 10 pound goal range instead of a magic #.
