Hey everyone! I just hit my 3 week post op mark! Woohoo! Though, I've regretted this surgery since about Day 2 because of all the issues I'm having. Don't feel too comfortable going into those issues on this forum. However, every single time I eat or drink something, my sleeve starts gurgling and crying and whatnot haha. It's embarrassing. My husband is always like "are you still hungry?" Bless his heart, he always offers more food because he thinks I'm still hungry due to those sounds.

Anyone else experience this? Does it go away over time? Anything that can help? If it helps at all, I take Nexium in the morning.

My friend had the surgery 5 years ago and used to refer to that as her 'wookie' :D. I think it lasted quite a while, she just got used to it.

I'm a little over 6 weeks post op, and had those the whole first month or so.

They seem to have subsided. The only thing I'm still experiencing is the sort of audible gurgling sound in my throat when I lie down.

Mine definitely got better and less noticeable over time. You are still swollen and healing. If it's still happening at 3 MONTHS out, then you can start to worry it might never go away.

Six months out and from time to time my stomach sounds like Chewbacca. Just sayin'. It doesn't mean anything. It's just doing its job.

It happens from time to time with me but is lessening as I heal. I'm almost 4 months post op and all of that is settling down.

The more you heal the better things will be. Hang in there!

I actually had a RYN and had the same thing. It did go away with time, just your stomach adjusting

Lol. My stomach gurgling noises especially when I'm at work. Whoever is around, I tell them to keep it down.

Totally normal! The first two months mine made so much noise, it was weird. Now it mostly only does it when I eat something that I haven't eaten with my sleeve yet, or it's just digesting oddly.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
