Thought I was red but was I really green?

Recommended Posts

In August I had my last fill of .3 ccs, bringing me to 7.1 total. I felt green for a long time. Then, in December I started to throw up frequently and I had awful acid reflux in the middle of the night. I would wake up choking on acid, gross. So last week I went back to my doctor and he removed .25 ccs. Now I feel like I made a mistake because I'm hungry earlier during the day and later at night than I have been. I'm also able to eat easier, I feel like I'm not restricted enough. Does anyone know if they are able to put in .1 cc? Anyone else have this experience? I definitely don't want to throw up often and have esophageal issues, but I don't want to gain weight either. Help!

I just recently had to have all of my Fluid removed because of reflux at night. I gained 20 lbs over the last 5 months. I only had 4 ccs total in my band. I just went to Dr today and had 3 ccs put back in. Gotta be careful with the reflux because of the possibility of aspirating into your lungs and getting pneumonia. My band had slipped. Just give it a little time and wait to make sure there isn't slippage and maybe you can get some of that put back in. The vomitting could cause some slippage so just be patient and maybe you can get some fluid put back in. Hope that helps.

Hey !
Yes of course they can remove or add 0.1.
For me, the difference between green and red is exactly 0.1. That makes a huge difference.
So hi back and have a little fill x

I was banded in May 2016: for the first 5 months I lost nearly nothing.
Could eat large quantities easily.
Then I had to go back for fills, and suddenly weight started dropping.
I am in 7.1 cc now as well.
I do suffer a lot I must admit.
I can not consume any foods or drinks before 3-4 pm.
I can not drink more than 0.5 liter a day. I also wake up at night choking on nothing. I vomit daily. AND THIS IS NOT HEALTHY AT ALL, but if i remove the 0.1 I'm gonna start gaining weight instead of losing.
So I told myself I'm gonna suffer another 6 months and then loosen it again control my intake strictly.

Samantha C ,

I always kept a tight band too just never get a complete unfill because you will never get that same feeling again. I miss my tight band had to have an unfill because took a long airline trip and band tightened up even more tight I lost too much weight and they talked me into a complete unfill just to let my body have a rest and gain some weight BIG MISTAKE, only take some out NEVER take all out I guess unless you have a slip or you will never find that good old feeling again. I am refilling now and they are taking forever to do it nothing feels the same. If I ever get back to the same spot they will have to strap me down to remove any fill

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
