Finally know what it feels like

I am on the pureed food diet now. I was so afraid that I would know when to stop eating and I found out today after only a couple of onces of food! I had a knot in my chess and it felt so terrible I wanted NOTHING else to eat. This journey is truly amazing. I can't wait to see how how far I get. Is there anyone in this stage or have experienced this that can share their story with me? ]

@Lenamatie301 I know exactly how you feel, I've experienced this feeling multiple times but just after a few spoon fulls to be exact!!! The feeling is HORRIBLE, and I agree I rather not eat anything else.... What's helped me get past it if it continues to linger about 20-30 mins later is something warm, preferably a cup of tea!!!!

I'm so glad to hear this! I really wasn't hungry the first few days post-op, but today is day 7, I have 2 weeks of full liquids left before I get to purees, and I am so hungry all the time again. I hope I start feeling full again after I get on purees

I am 8 days post op and my hunger just returned yesterday. It scared me because I don't want to overeat. I'm on full liquid diet till next week. I'm allowed to have yogurt and is been hard to only eat 2Tb cuz I want more. It's reassuring to know that I'm not going to want to overeat.

I felt the same way when my hunger came back. I was so nervous. When I finally got real food and my body actually told me to stop it was a beautiful thing. This is the signal I either didn't feel or it didn't exist before.

I bought baby spoons, so it takes me longer to eat. Work's great!

I've learned to read my body a little better. When my tiny tummy is full my nose starts to run and the spit in my mouth gets thick. Weird!! I know! But that's the way it is.

That's actually kind of cool you can recognize those signals!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
