Hi I'm considering having surgery I'm Mexico I've been considering and researching for two years and I'm finally ready to go to the next step. I found a clinic called a slimmer me.clinic the surgeon has just begun doing surgeries and the prices are very cheap, I just signed up with this app and was just wondering if anyone has heard of this clinic or the surgeon his name is Dr. Luis Enrique Montaño

I'm finding very little information on him unfortunately. I went to Mexico for mine but my surgeon was Dr. Jalil Illan and his services were great.

I just suggest being extra cautious if you're unable to find much information on the surgeon.

Please do not go to someone who is inexperienced or go to the cheepest. I had my surgery with Dr Quinones on January 25th. There are also good doctors through this site like Dr. Illan. There is already a measure of risk going to Mexico, make sure you find a good doctor.

You spent 2 years on research don't settle for anything cheap and you should always go with experience. Please take your time with choosing a surgeon. Best wishes to you

Every surgeon had to start somewhere, but where would that be?

A new surgeon should be working for years with an experienced one. Once he is experienced enough to be out on his own, he isn't new anymore.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
