I have a 100.4 fever when i got home from the hospital. There everything was normal. Otherwise i am feeling ok except for tenderness in the stomach. I tried calling the doctor but he doesnt have a service and it says in case of emergency call 911. I dont want to go to a random hospital but not sure if it can wait till morning. Anyone had this?

What do you mean, random hospital?

Do you have a blood pressure cuff? If so, take your blood pressure just to see how that is doing...

Were you sent home on antibiotics?

A fever in general isn't usually worrisome until it gets over 102F. But, I have seen serious conditions with lower fevers.

I think just monitor yourself... don't take any fever reducers. If you start feeling bad, don't hesitate to go to any hospital if you can't make the preferred one.

I did a quick search, and others have had that happen. If the fever gets over 102, go ahead to the hospital even if you feel ok.

A bit of temp is not really abnormal after surgery. The trauma to the body itself will produce some elevation of temp. You had a long drive home and if you're not having an increase in pain, no chills, vomiting or rapid heart rate I'd keep close tabs on the temp and see what happens. I also had an increase in temp when I got home from hospital and had a difficult time maintaining/regulating my body temp. I get hot then be freezing to death 30 minutes later. If you reach the 102 go to the ER

Hope this is helpful to you! Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
