queenj 0 Posted February 1, 2017 I am following the post op liquid diet but I am experiencing actual hunger. More hunger than I had on my 2 week pre op liquid diet. Any advice or similar experiences? Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
daisy63 36 Posted February 1, 2017 I am having the same problem. The Protein Drink helped calm it down but its been a struggle...I pray this ends with the introduction of actual food this week (week 3 for me). Its only 1/2 an egg and 1/4 piece of toast, tuna....but it will feel good to chew. Hang in there.this is very temporary. 1 Booandfrida reacted to this
FindingCarrie 244 Posted February 1, 2017 Are you sure it is actual hunger. Stomach acid can mimic the feeling of hunger. Your doctor can prescribe medication to help with that. Also, my doctor prescribed Levsin, which actually helps with esophagus and stomach spasms. I only used it for the first few days post surgery, but I did notice that those spasms also mimicked the feeling of hunger. rnjules 2 Posted February 1, 2017 I would tell your doctor about the hunger pains. Just in case it's something else in the mimicking hunger. And whatever you do when you hit the time where you can start eating food go slow because her I over did it today and I feel so uncomfortable like a tight band all the way around My chest/back and waist. it's awful.
