jovanmurphysr 7 Posted January 31, 2017 I'm 6 days out and I'm NOT having any problems with drinking my Water. I almost feel like there isn't much restrictions. Anyone else experiencing this? I was told that this phase deals with everyone differently and that I'll feel more restrictions when it come to eating solid foods. sleevedviolet 52 Posted February 1, 2017 I am 2 weeks post-op in the same thing happened to me still to this day I can drink a half a bottle of Water in one sitting but I can't get three bites of scrambled eggs down so I think it's pretty normal Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
mylighthouse 782 Posted February 1, 2017 I'm 12 weeks post op. I was the same way, did not have any trouble at all getting all of my Water in plus some since the day after surgery. And it is true, you will feel restriction when you get to soft foods. When I first started them, I could barely get in but a few bites.
Diva T 62 Posted February 1, 2017 Thanks for the info. I can drink fairly easily too but eating is much more difficult. This makes me feel reasured that it will get better and at 15 days post op am pretty much on track!
AGreenEyedWolf 97 Posted February 1, 2017 I'm a week post op and I'm glad you asked this question because I also don't have much restriction with most Clear Liquids - thicker stuff like Jello & yogurt I'm done at 2 to 3 teaspoons - and my Protein Shakes I can't do more than 2 oz at a time (that could be the taste, though LOL)but Water, tea, even Tomato Soup - just seem to go right down, no problem. I think most liquids move through the stomach pretty quickly (I've seen it in person on the monitor when I did my upper GI before surgery and my leak test after, LOL) but stuff with more "substance" or that is more "solid" stops in there to get digested so it's easier to drink than to eat.
